Preschool Summer

  • For children ages 3-5 who have not attended full-day kindergarten
  • Available only for students currently enrolled at NGFS or enrolled for the 2025-26 school year
  • Preschool Summer camp is held on the Guilford Campus at 1128 New Garden Road.

The day begins at 8:00 and ends at 2:30. Families may drop off campers in the morning beginning at 7:45. After camp childcare is offered until 6 p.m. for an additional fee through our Extended Care program.

Preschool Summer offers a safe and comfortable environment for preschool children (ages 3-5) to play, socialize, and learn in the summer. Each session will have a central theme upon which activities are based. Activities include painting, cooking, playing in centers, building, drawing, Play-Doh, and outside play. Afternoon rest time is included; stuffed animal friends and blankets from home are welcome. Occasionally, Preschool campers will take a short walk next door to visit our community garden plot at the Guilford College Farm.

2025 Preschool Summer Sessions

June 9-13 - Bugs, Butterflies, and Creepy Crawlies($230)

We will get to know many-legged and winged creatures this week. We will explore our outdoor areas for creepy crawly friends. We will build, draw, paint, and even act like bugs. We will make “dirt cup” desserts, and spider cookies among other delicious bug-inspired foods.

June 16-20* - Wonderful World of Colors ($200)

*This is a 4-day week, as we are closed Thursday, June 19, for the national holiday, Juneteenth.

Step into a rainbow! We will explore colors using acrylics, liquid watercolors, oil pastels, and many other colorful media. Campers will play color games, sing songs, and create a colorful snack. They will also complete colorful crafts and tie-dye t-shirts.

June 23-27 - Animal Adventures ($230)

Learn all about the animal kingdom with lots of arts and craft projects! Play with lots of animal toys, make animal habitats, and try to figure out what animals make which noises and live in what areas. Use animal stamps to create track art, and learn about the animals who live in North Carolina.

July 7-11 - Under the Sea ($220)

Make a splash and join us as we dive into the deep blue sea by learning all about the creatures living there including all kinds of fish and sharks, the octopus, and the eel. We will make waves in our water table and with our fun ocean activities.

July 14-18 - Dinosaurs ($230)

We will travel far back in time to dig into the study of dinosaurs by seeking out fossils and going on a dino egg hunt. Books, puzzles, and toys will help us learn about these fascinating creatures!

July 21-25 - 3...2...1...Blast Off! ($230)

Join us as we explore the wonders of space with our own galaxy mobile and other fun space crafts, books, and songs. We'll put our best foot forward to make footprint rockets and robots will be here too. It’s going to be far out!
